Bradpalm1: You stated: <<IVAN is in the same boat as every other E&P company looking to monetize their natural gas reserves>>
Reality is that IVAN produces the vast quantity of about 994 boe/d COMBINED TOTAL from their WORLDWIDE operations, and most of that in the form of oil, not gas. Not even enough gas to inflate the starship Friedland, much less to operate even a single standard-size 500 b/d GTL demonstration plant. Besides, NONE of their current trickle of gas comes from ANY of the countries with which they claim (or claimed) to be "negotiating" for possible GTL deals (Qatar, Egypt, Australia, Bolivia). Historically to date, the big GTL and LNG deals involving stranded gas have been signed by countries such as Indonesia, Australia, Qatar and Egypt with the large multinational o/g companies (e.g., RDShell, XOM, COP, BRG) that also serve as operators of the huge gas fields within those countries. And that pattern is likely to continue. So it is laughable that a tiny tinhorn company like IVAN would EVER win a GTL concession with no local gas production in that country, no previous GTL experience, and not even a previous track record of operating gas fields. But actual "facts" have never before deterred IVAN's well-oiled publicity machine, which springs into action, like clockwork, whenever some new, remote, isolated, and naive kingdom is discovered that has never even heard of IVAN, Friedland, or GTL.
