Your suggestion Bush could have gotten UN approval but for his attitude, I believe, is both speculative and wrong. He obviously waited and tried to get full support, rather than rushing into Iraq without trying(which again, I think would probably have been better and the level of support about the same). How many times did was the UN noted to be unwilling to go along, as a preface to Bush calling it irrelevant(by the by, I don't know how many times he called it irelevant, do you?)?
