But in the case of Arabs, they rose from a nomadic desert people to rule most (and perhaps the best) of the known world. What is more, they got to "convert" countless people into being "Arabs" and their legacy still remains for their trouble. Tell me, what is the legacy of the 600 years of war between Persia and Rome? While they each deeply influenced their sphere of power (Rome in the West and Persia in the East), neither got anything to show for from fighting the other.
