It is, indeed. But that is not what is at stake in the Boykin matter. What is at stake is "loose lips sink ships." There's no unassailable right to that. Some might even call it treason.

Wow. You totally lost me on that one, Karen. BTW, welcome back.

Since I've attended four NSA sponsored Operations Security (OPSEC) conferences in the past year and was a speaker at two of them, I do believe I am fully qualified to access that.

There was no breach.
Loose lips sink ships when you divulge classified operational intelligence. That was not done.
Boykin expressed a personal religious view. Contrary to a few reporters writings, that, by itself, is not a national security matter...not even close.

I cannot even begin to understand where you get treason from his remarks...Have you ever read a manuscript of what he said? Do you know anything about this man's lifetime of service to America, the US Army, Special Forces, 12 years with Delta, etc.? Boyken has been the Commander of Delta, and the Commanding General of US Special Forces. He has been shot twice that I know of...and never shirked from combat duty. He has earned the right to have an opinion on anything.

Now they have done it. They have pissed off the Pope! Maybe we can get him to declare a "Holy War." That would get Boykin off the hook.

Sounds like they didn't have a good barrier up. Everybody has to learn the hard way.

Berlusconi Says Italy Won't Be Intimidated by Bombing
By REUTERS

BAGHDAD, Nov. 12 — A bomb blast killed at least 20 people -- 12 Italians and eight Iraqis -- in the Iraqi town of Nasiriya on Wednesday, hospital officials told Reuters.

The suspected suicide attack, which also wounded at least 12 people, targeted the headquarters of the Italian military police in the southern town.

A spokesman for the Carabinieri force in Rome said nine of the Italians killed were military police and three were from the army.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said Italy would not be intimidated by the bombing.

"No intimidation will budge us from our willingness to help that country rise up again and rebuild itself with self-government, security and freedom," he said in a statement.

Pope John Paul said the bombing attack was a "vile attack" against a misssion of peace.

In a strong message to Italy's president, the pope said he wanted to express his "most firm condemnation" for what he called the latest in a string of horrifying episodes in the country.

Can't argue with Sullivan on this comment.

DROP THE TARIFFS: There are two huge problems with Bush's economic record. The first is the massive hike in domestic spending he has signed on to. One quarter of good economic growth will do nothing to address the enormous fiscal wreckage that Bush has already created and has no current plans to reverse. Long-run structural debt is not a conservative position. It's a reckless position - especially when you're adding a huge new federal entitlement and doing nothing - nothing - to reform entitlements. Ditto the Rove Tariffs on steel. Not even the White House can defend this attack on free trade in anything but the crudest political terms. The EU and the WTO are absolutely right to demand a reversal. If Bush sticks to his protectionist guns, he really should be pummeled by real economic conservatives.

Clinton Counsel Urges Hillary to Denounce Soros
newsmax.com

Former Clinton White House counsel Lanny Davis is calling on his one-time boss Sen. Hillary Clinton to denounce billionaire Democratic Party donor George Soros for accusing President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Sharon of contributing to a resurgence in global anti-Semitism.

"If that is what he said, then he certainly should be criticized," Davis told radio host Sean Hannity. "And I would certainly expect every Democrat, including Senator Clinton" to denounce Soros' comments, the ex-white House lawyer added.

Asked about additional comments by the billionaire Bush basher, where Soros reportedly compared Bush's policies to Adolf Hitler's, Davis was incredulous. "No one is going to agree with that kind of rhetoric and I don't believe that Mr. Soros would say something like that," he told Hannity.

According to the Washington Post, however, Soros did indeed draw a parallel between Bush and the Nazis, saying in an interview on Monday that "America, under Bush, is a danger to the world. ... When I hear Bush say, 'You're either with us or against us,' it, reminds me of the Germans."

It conjures up memories, he said, of Nazi slogans on the walls, "Der Feind Hort mit" ("The enemy is listening"), the Post added.

"My experiences under Nazi and Soviet rule have sensitized me," Soros explained.

Mr. Davis said he hadn't seen the Washington Post report.

Four days earlier Soros reportedly told the Jewish Funders Network: "There is a resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe. The policies of the Bush administration and the Sharon administration contribute to that.

"If we change that direction, then anti-Semitism also will diminish," he added.

Mr. Davis urged Sen. Clinton to condemn the remarks after being apprised of Rep. Elliot Engel's reaction.

In an interview with the New York Sun on Wednesday, Engel called Soros’ comments "ridiculous and outrageous ” and "morally reprehensible.”

"I could give you many more adjectives," the Jewish Democrat added. "I don’t know where to begin, I am so annoyed about it. The Democratic leaders should make clear that they condemn these remarks."

Soros has pledged to raise $75 million to help Democrats defeat President Bush in next year's election. He told the Washington Post that he would be willing to spend most of his $7 billion fortune "if someone guaranteed" it would defeat Bush.
