On a similar but different topic, how do you balance a media conglomerate like Clear Channel that has a severe political bias? 1700 (I think) radio stations, all pushing the same agenda, to the exclusion of other views? And their stuff is presented as editorial, not advertising.

John, Clear Channel is not just biased politically, its mean spirited as well. Recently, several of their DJs were encouraging people to throw things and yell at bicyclists when they passed them on the road. Not only did they not apologize for this senseless BS, but they tried to pass the whole thing off as "having fun".

Its apparent the schism in this country not only runs deep but can be pretty ugly as well.

JF, how do you balance a media conglomerate like Clear Channel that has a severe political bias?

The same way you balance mainstream media organizations like the NY Times, LA Times, CBS, ABC, NBC, and others that have a subtle but noticeable liberal bias. You create competition in this marketplace of ideas.

Speaking of which, I wonder how the efforts to create a "liberal Rush" are coming along. This was the big thing late last year, when the Democrats lost big and blamed part of their troubles on Rush.
