I suppose that means my Avalanche is worthless:( I continue to buy domestic though I don't buy new. I see little reason in taking that 35% hit by driving it off the lot. Let someone else do that is my motto.

Another curious market day. Gold up and looking at 400, dollar down and happy days in marketville. Market was getting oversold though and this may be a reload opportunity for the shorts.

>>The biggest surprises were in areas once dominated by Detroit: big SUVs and pickup trucks. In those key categories, the new study projects that Japanese brands such as Honda Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp. and Nissan MotorCo. will have better resale values after three years than competing U.S. brands such as Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge.<<

for years honda, toyota, nissan have been kicking butt in customer perception of superior fit, finish, engine reliability, etc in passenger cars, why that perception would not translate into the SUV market is a surprise escapes me.

toyota and nissan are also making big gains in the truck market...smart moves like the toyota setting up assembly plants for its tundra truck in TEXAS goes far in winning over the typically "buy american" truck market.

Residuals are based on a vehicle's asking price, not its selling price, so in this incentive-heavy era, domestics will of course be hurt in such rankings.

There is a reason why people in general refer to cars in the "feminine form" (i.e. "She")

So... Cars, like women, must be "enjoyed" -ggg

They must be driven ....

and so, like a good high performance and fine automobile, the most joyful moments will be when you drive them hard... but.. you must know HOW to drive them. In addition, there are cars and then there are cars... all types... high performance, luxury, cheap... and so on....

The important thing will always be in dealing with cars... you MUST know how to drive them, because if you do not...

They will put you into the wall.. the skids, and will crash you with terrible consequences... [just like women will] -gg

So don't expect cars to hold values, they can hardly be considered "investments" still... they will reward you greatly, but remember .. you must know how to drive... them.
