The Iraq war or economy won't hurt Bush if he's got control of the media and voting machines. We've seen the ability to lie about almost anything, and get away with it, even when the facts later emerge.

The only thing that will get the predators and parasites out of Washington is full disclosure of what they are up to, every public program, every public dollar, every meeting of public officials, with the only exception of bona-fide military secrets, of which there are almost none.

I do forsee the Iraq situation turning into a quagmire and probably effecting the election next year. It certainly hasn't gotten better since the end of major combat in April. No signs it's going to get any better any time soon either. As the CIA just warned, things will likely get worse in the near future. Islmanic militants from around the Middle East are streaming into Iraq to join the fight. I'm sure the Iraqi insurgents have been embolden by recent attacks like the downing of U.S. helecopters. I certainly do see the Iraqi conflict continuing through the election next year. Perhaps it will spin out of control sometime next year and become a major campaign issue. That certainly seems like a strong possibility at this juncture. Hope not, but the writing is all over the wall.
