China Netcom, China Telecom to Provide Value-Added IP Services Using Shasta 5000 Broadband Service Node from Nortel Networks BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 2003--China Netcom and China Telecom have each selected Shasta 5000 Broadband Service Node (BSN) from Nortel Networks (NYSE:NT)(TSX:NT) to provide a foundation for delivering value-added broadband IP (Internet Protocol) services to end-users. China Netcom's Shandong Branch will deploy Nortel Networks Shasta 5000 BSNs to build the second phase of its provincial IP-based Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). This will cover the cities of Jinan, Qingdao, Dezhou, Yantai, Zibo, Rizhao, Jining, Tai'an, Weihai, Zaozhuang, Heze, Dongying and Liaocheng.
