P.A. Mocks American Dead
17:19 Nov 12, '03 / 17 Cheshvan 5764

The official Palestinian Authority daily has used the photo of a memorial for dead American soldiers in Iraq to mock them.

The somber memorial featuring rifles and helmets for each soldier killed was built after the downing of a US helicopter in Iraq, killing 15 Americans. Palestinian Media Watch reports that a cartoon in yesterday's Al Hayat Al Jadida depicts the memorial in cartoon form, with "quotes" next to each helmet mocking the dead Americans. The quotes read, "We will imprison Saddam soon," "Casualties are relatively low," and "The uprising is weak and desperate."

The PA claimed last week that it had arrested two terrorists involved in the recent murder of three Americans in Gaza. The three victims were John Branchizio, 37, of Texas, John Linde Jr., 30, of Missouri, and Mark Parsons, 31, of New Jersey. They were security personnel guarding a convoy of U.S. diplomatic vehicles that was attacked by Palestinian Arab terrorists in the Gaza Strip on October 15, 2003. The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has called upon the Bush administration to demand that the PA surrender the terrorists to the United States for prosecution

Guerrillas attack Mossad office in Iraq
KIRKOUK, Iraq - A huge blast has caused extensive damage in a Mossad office building in Kirkouk in northern Iraq late on Monday killing and wounding an unspecified number of Mossad agents and civilian Kurds, the Middle East News Agency said yesterday.
US troops and rescue workers were rushed into the devastated building to remove the bodies and take the wounded to a hospital in Mousel, MENA said.
The workers have arrived at the site during the night to remove the debris and evacuate the injured persons, the news agency added.
The US troops prevented the people from getting closer to the building and imposed a news black out on the cause of the explosion, which occurred in the garage of the building, it said.
The troops wanted to hide the true activities of the office, which the Mossad rented a week ago, and the identities of its occupants, MENA said.

Re: ...he seems to think that military solutions are the ultimate answer, but history does not bear that premise out.

Well... as far as I'm concerned, I don't think that the Mideast endgame will be played by the military. I mean, Arab countries are much too weak to confront militarily the US-Israeli powerhouse. Remember: six months ago, the doomsayers were predicting WWIII if the US attacked Iraq, and what happened?? Nothing! US Abram tanks just rolled into Baghdad and the US staff settled in Hotel Rashid...

Today, the same doomsayers are predicting WWIII if the US turns to Iran... or Syria... or if Sharon blows up Arafat's compound... and guess what? Nothing's gonna happen --nothing!

I'm afraid the crisis that's gonna ultimately unlock the Mideast conflict(s) will be a civil war of sorts in the US. Eventually, the Israelization of the US's foreign policy will creep into the US's domestic fabric... Since the US is a much less homogeneous soctiety than Israel, there'll be much more resistance to the Judeocons' attempt to Israelize the US homeland. Again, we can think of the French-Algerian war as the mirror image of what lies ahead in the US/Israeli-Arab conflict....
