I think Kerry deserves credit for going to Viet Nam to serve his country when many were not willing to do so... If somebody has been shot in the leg but still has his weapon, he is wounded but still presents a danger to you and your fellow troops... I just don't think there's enough there for us to criticize him about it.

I agree. It's the breathless, exaggerated descriptions of it that are objectionable. But more importantly, commanding a gunboat in the Mekong delta, heroically or not, doesn't make him presidential material, especially when you consider his later actions.

I don't even want to talk about Kerry's time on the river boats. That was not a safe place to be. I knew many of the guys from my time in. They were a special breed. I will concede hero status to him for those times.

He is still a conniving, lying POS today. That I will not admire.

I will also add that I know many folks who did some real intense combat. Some from WWII. They all share the same trait. The worse the combat they saw, the less they wish to talk about it. They certainly don't want to keep pointing out to folks what a hero they were/are. In fact the true hero's tend to go out of their way to minimize what they have done.

Did Kerry really ride a Harley onto Leno's stage?
I missed that!

LOL.
