It's the "smart investors that get in early math!" also known as "return on original investment".

Let's say you bought AMD when it was at $10 a few months ago.

Todays move would have returned you 14.6% on that original investment vs.if you spent the same amount of money yesterday which would have netted you "only" 8.6%.

Now when AMD is at an all time high of $48, even a $1 move will net you 10% ROI, vs a %gain of only 2% for that $1 move on that day.
