No, you don't understand correctly. If RF was "running from the law", then what was he doing when I saw him standing around in the Marriott in Times Square talking on his satellite phone? What was he doing when he spoke at the show in New Orleans over Halloween? If you're "on the lam" then I think well-advertised speaking engagements at public conferences is probably inadvisable.
