I am trimming my positions, usually after they have doubled, so the remaining shares are "free". I went on margin last year, and am very happy to pay that margin off now and have some shares left over.

No, it's not time to sell, at least not until the uptrend has been broken. Simple TA rule. But hey, you know that since your "The Technician".
