A. Geiche, I agree that Pvt. Lynch is due a lot of respect. Regrettably, the same cannot be said for the writer of her book, Rick Bragg. I once saw him at a writer's presentation on BookTV. He was arrogant, indifferent to honesty and to my mind flaky. This impression was corroborated mere weeks later when he was unceremoniously suspended from the NY Times for falsely taking credit for work that one of his researchers had carried out. The whole notion of the "anal rape" sounds like nothing more than sick propaganda that Bragg and the whores at the Pentagon cooked up in order to elicit a visceral hatred among the dolts in the U.S. who see the Iraqis as our enemies.

What seems to make Jessica a Hero is she appears to be totally honest about everything. It had to have PAINED HER greatly to even MENTION the anal rape so I doubt she is making it up. She hasnt made any effort to look like a true hero in the sense of a fighting soldier but the American public appears to love her not in spite of that but BECAUSE of that. The Dwarfs could certainly learn some lessons from her. jdn
