JDN.....I think we are both on the same page. There is no doubt in anybodies mind that Saddam & his twisted sons had to be taken out. Our methodolgies differ though. Instead of a full scale invasion of Iraq I think the US/UK/Canada/Australia/NZ should have collaborated with Iraqi groups to send in special ops to get the job done.American lives would have been saved as well as Iraqi civilians. Prior to that there should have been plans to set up a puppet government until such time as legitimate (?) elections could be held.

Profiteering contracts: Its a sad fact of life that wars are profit generated. I hear what you are saying about payoff money, but have a strong look at Halliburton(Cheney)/Kellog,Root&Brown/Bechtal, all campaign contributors. KRB (subsidiary of Halliburton, Cheneys company) were unilaterily granted the contract to rebuild Iraq.......contract did not even go out to bid. Profiteering? Yah, I would think so....Rick
