why you don't load pest patrol

It's just a personal choice. I don't do a lot of "surfing" and feel the chances are remote that I will visit a site that plants a keylogger or trojan on my system. I try to load as little as possible at startup. I run PP, Spybot, adaware, and spyware blaster on a regular basis to make sure I stay clean. If you surf a lot or get links sent to you in email it's probably a good idea to load PP at boot. Zone Alarm keeps you hidden from scanners and monitors port traffic. It will not stop something that you let in yourself by visiting a "dubious" site or by not having IE or whatever browser you use configured properly. If you have doubts about your IE or mail settings, run the tests at pcpitstop.com
