Although I am generally biased in favour of individuals and against the State...this comment from the Judge seems cogent...

"Instead of seizing an opportunity to help improve Svanhild's abilities to care for her children, they've let this turn into a battle against the agency and others"

It seems ludicrous that the decision would be based solely on an IQ score (particularly since hers almost doubled between tests). There is no mention of the evidence against her and the care she provided-- or didn't- though the article alludes to it. I read the earlier articles which say her prior teachers found her a normal student and that she worked for two years in a childcare facility and had good recommendations.
And to allow her to see those children only six times in a year? Awful. Her parents offered to take them, and the court wouldn't consider it. Either the system over there is really into state control, or we are not getting the full story- which is probably true.

Is this like that movie with Sean Penn that I never could bring myself to rent?
