Here is URL to interesting 11/12 LR article entitled "DSL fuels 2nd thoughts on FTTP"

lightreading.com

Not close enough to really understand the economics, but have always felt FTTC (as opposed to FTTP/FTTH) combined with high speed DSL would be a reasonable alternative for telcos.

Here is URL to MRVC info on their ethernet over VDSL solution (which I believe has been used quite a bit in Europe, but not here in US).

mrv.com

Anyone in a position to comment on what (other than sales ability) is holding up MRVC selling more of this product offerring here in US?

from the very same site you referred us to:

"Oz: Australia!"

If Oz is Australia then aren't the inhabitants thereof Ozzies?

aussie-adventures.com

I'm sure Dorothy's "We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto" will apply once we get to see kangaroos and emus wandering about. Oh, and I've heard that Aussies/Ozzies are famous for their drinking - make that infamous.

But a brew here and there, now that's just fine, whether it's in Atlanta and Kansas.

nb: I prefer this kind of back and forth as compared to what they indulge in over on the Yahoo thread - as you've seen yourself.

the guy called Dee Jay

as long as we're having fun, there's this also from that Aussie slang site:

Aussie (pron: ozzie): Australian
