I think some French are arrogant about some things, but I think I only said that compared to us they were not terribly arrogant. So perhaps we do not really disagree all that much. I do not think I could rank the French on any scale of relative arrogance, except in respect to US citizens, who I have listened to a lot. I find Americans to be amazingly arrogant- about almost everything, and while a bit of patriotism and self satisfaction are nice, too much can be destructive, to logical thinking, and to relations with others.
