lurqer, You make a good point about the dysfunctional father image. David Corn is currently being interviewed on the i.e. Radio Network, ieamericaradio.com and he and the host are discussing the Lies of George Bush. One point was exactly that Bush is accepted by many Americans as father figure, and the notion that the father is a liar has many Americans in denial. They can't accept this fact. ******** From the article you linked to, there was this interesting tidbit: "People vote their identity, they don't just vote on the issues, and Democrats don't understand that. Look at Schwarzenegger, who says nothing about the issues. The Democrats ask, How could anyone vote for this guy? They did because he put forth an identity. Voters knew who he is." I'm starting to get a good feeling about Howard Dean. He seems to be the sort of candidate with an identity. Hopefully he can cut through the crap that the DLC is trying to throw up as a barrier to having a real Democrat acting like one.
