In 1991 the majority of the force was American, and that was after Iraq invaded Kuwait and with the limited mandate of getting Iraq out of Kuwait. If before the first war we announced plans to forcibly remove Saddam from power the invasion force would have been almost entirely American and maybe British then.

Of course the crime is to have gone there to begin with...there was not threat then, there is now.

Do you think an invasion of Iraq to topple Saddam would have been justified in 1991? Would you have supported it?
