Unfortunately, that base is strong enough for a pull of some fence-sitters--aiming at certain independent voters in certain swing states to make for a GOPwinger win. I always wondered why the jerks--including Clinton, in my book--kept becoming president, until I learned more deeply how manipulative our election process actually is, what with its reliance on those who don't vote as being a necessary factor for achieving victory in the demographic breakdown of the various states. Indeed, the candidate I vote for almost always loses--lol!
