Americans are largely ignorant of the world.
If you travel you find out people in other countries know all about us, but most Americans dont know jack about them.

That is why "boycott the French" was so wrong. It was just stupid and costly. Not only did the French have very reasonable concerns, but it was the Bushies treating them without respect, not the other way around. But the right-wing created this whole myth though that the French were anti-American. Maybe anti Bush not not anti-American at all. We are not the center of the universe here in the US. We are the most powerful country but that's about it.
