I don't know too many people other than big names like P&G, Kraft, and Sony that are able to pass along price increases to large retailers. If you need a retail chain to buy from you, you don't increase prices. This is one of the things that has been pushing the sourcing towards China.

Many retailers will trigger an automatic line review if you dare raise prices (inviting your competitors to bid on your business).
