Certainly they hate Saddam and want him deposed. But surely not at the cost of American occupation.

Considering when we went to Bosnia, we were to be there for a year, President Clinton said. We've been there 8 years so far.

Since we've won the war in Iraq in less than 2 months, and have been there for a grand total from March till today ... 8 months so far, I wouldn't get too exercised about a long term occupation if I were you.

I think rather, that we should look all the positives that have happened in that very short time frame, in a country the size of California, and several ethnic groups who seem to have always been at "war" with each other and their neighbors for centuries.

America is a wonderful place. We have people here from EVERY country in the world, represent EVERY religion in the world, and by in large, we usually get along with each other. We don't have 'warlords' here to deal with, and any number of other things to deal with.

Basically, the Iraqi's have a choice. They can make their new Constitution and live in freedom, or they won't, and they will propel themselves back to before the Dark Ages.
