The biggest threat is a destabilized SA. The Bush Iraq agenda may be setting off a chain of unanticipated (by the administration) reactions. It's hard to predict where this might lead in the coming years, but it could be very bad for the US, and the world economy.

OTOH, maybe Bush is right, and the ME countries will fall like dominos to democracy.


John, no, that theory was all about Nixon and SE Asia. The ME is kind of like the Asteroids game.......you keep shooting until something blows up....could be Iraq, could be SA, could be Israel etc. Who knows? <g>

Bush et al have lost control of Iraq........everything and anything is a crap shoot.....including SA. Nonetheless, it will be hard to break the grip of the Saud family.
