Do you get to write off your losses against your gains? IE if you spend 14 million to win 39 million and owe 19 million in taxes do you really only owe 5 million in taxes?

Maybe somebody should start a company that just sits on its cash until the payoff on a lottery got big enough then it would step in and cover all the numbers.
