Mustang releases C zone results of Bannockburn project Mustang Minerals Corp MUM Shares issued 23,428,560 Nov 13 close $0.74 Fri 14 Nov 2003 News Release Mr. David Black reports MUSTANG EXPANDS C-ZONE AT BANNOCKBURN NICKEL PROJECT Mustang Minerals has released the nickel values from additional sampling of the C zone at the Bannockburn nickel project located southeast of Timmins, Ont. Sampling has identified high-grade nickel values from grid locations along the exposed 150-metre strike length of the C zone. Previously reported grab samples (see news in Stockwatch dated Oct. 30, 2003) were taken from a 15-metre section of the C zone. Geological mapping has identified a 2.0- to 8.0-metre-thick zone of sulphide mineralization (the C zone) located at the basal contact of the komatiitic host rock. Chip and grab rock samples reported below were taken from 11 grid locations along the 150 metres of exposed strike length of the C zone. Both massive sulphides and disseminated sulphides were sampled from the mineralized komatiitic host rock. Results and sample locations are tabulated below: C ZONE Trench Location Ni Cu Sulphide (%) (%) Area 1 0 West 3.20 0.11 MS Area 1 0 West 1.09 0.05 DS Area 2 10 West 3.42 0.08 MS Area 2 10 West 0.97 0.06 DS Area 3 25 West 3.22 0.22 MS Area 4 25 West 0.63 0.02 DS Area 5 45 West 3.19 0.11 MS Area 5 45 West 0.98 0.05 DS Area 6 70 West 3.08 0.20 MS Area 6 70 West 0.52 0.02 DS Area 7 85 West 1.97 0.12 MS Area 7 85 West 0.41 0.02 DS Area 7 85 West 3.61 0.19 MS Area 8 115 West 4.04 0.24 MS Area 8 115 West 3.47 0.32 MS Area 8 115 West 0.19 0.01 DS Area 9 125 West 3.94 0.50 MS Area 9 125 West 4.85 0.24 MS Area 9 125 West 0.58 0.04 DS Area 10 140 West 3.86 0.22 MS Area 10 140 West 3.96 0.18 MS Area 10 140 West 3.30 0.13 MS Area 11 150 West 3.12 0.11 MS Area 11 150 West 4.00 0.13 MS MS = massive sulphide DS = disseminated sulphide Cobalt and platinum group metals assays are pending. Assays completed at Expert Laboratories in Rouyn Noranda. "These sampling results are an important first step and confirm significant nickel mineralization occurring in the C zone over a 150-metre strike length. The results highlight the potential of the Bannockburn property to host concentrations of high-grade nickel mineralization," said Ken Lapierre, vice-president exploration of Mustang. The surface mineralization at the C zone is open along strike to the east and west where the exposed zone enters swampy terrain. Both swamps cover two separate north-south-trending komatiite flows each hosting prominent geophysical targets. The western komatiite flow contains a north-south-striking, 350-metre-long untested TEM conductor while the eastern flow hosts a series of untested HLEM (Max-Min) anomalies with a north-south strike length of 2.0 kilometres. The C zone and the immediately adjacent geophysical anomalies provide important initial drill targets for the company. Road access and infrastructure will allow drilling to begin shortly and occur throughout the year. Mustang controls approximately 20 kilometres of prospective komatiitic basal horizon to be evaluated by exploration. The Bannockburn exploration program, including the results reported in this news, has been completed under the supervision of Ken Lapierre, PGeo, the qualified person for Mustang under National Policy 43-101. Geological information about the Bannockburn property including pictures of the C zone are posted on the Mustang Minerals Web site. (c) Copyright 2003 Canjex Publishing Ltd. stockwatch.com
