Why give him the publicity? He's obviously setting himself up as a political martyr for the people who think undoing the separation of church and state is the ultimate political cause. Any further action against him just keeps him in the public eye and reinforces the support he's gaining. As a Republican, my view is that his gain is the party's loss. The party should focus on economics, foreign policy, education and good government in general, not on issues of religion and "morality" that only serve to divide and alienate people who might otherwise agree with us on the other, real world issues.

JMO,
Bob

PS: The Dems have the same "our concept of morality or get the hell out" litmus test mentality as the far right, BTW. They extend that mentality to most other issues, too, which is why they are fast becoming a failure as a national party, IMO.

PPS: Back on the subject of Moore, the Declaration of Independence acknowledges the deity, God, in an all-encompassing, accepting-of-all/excluding-none manner and the constitution says government should stay out of the religion businesses. I agree with both.
