I would agree with you if we still had a backed dollar, but we don't so there is no limit to the amount of dollars that can be created to counter any deflationary effect from a collapsing credit bubble..The result being higher prices from a debased dollar.
Why do you think gold was confiscated in the '30's?...Short answer, to increase gold reserves so the money supply could expand...Only problem was it wasn't enough.
The fed will print until we run out of trees to produce paper.
