Like I said I think we get the worst of both worlds

Deflation on produced goods due to overcapoacity, outsourcing of jobs, and no pent up demand. We alos have falling wages and rising property taxes, rising insurance, etc etc etc.

Nor can the balance of trade problem and budget deficits go on forever.

Finally you are not looking ahead.
All of this stimulus is for one reason only....
To get Bush re-elected

After he is (he will not give a shit about anything and will let the economy collapse in the first two years of his term)

Same if democrats are elected. They will take the hit and bame it on Bush. Either way your "fully inflationary" view has about 1 year max left in it before the rug is pulled.

In the meantime we have both inflationary and deflationary pressures and I think we get the worst of both (so I fully understand your inflationary side)
