Discretionary SPENDING; that to which the GOP has near-complete control via the Senate, House & Bush increased by over 12% in 2003 -- and over 27%* since BUSH took office.

...gee I thought they were the SMALL gov party!!!!!

The Defense budget is about 53% of ALL DISCRETIONARY spending. Meaning the US GOV spends over half of its truly available funds on the military. We spend another 16 to 17 cents on P&I (servicing the National DEBT) -- leaving Congress with around 30 cents to truly legislate with.

*OMB 2003

BTW, and for the record, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are PAID INTO through payroll taxes (NOT INCOME TAXES!!!!!)

LOL, before Bush was in office

Bush is a borrow and spend kind of guy. He's had years in office and he is still borrowing more and spending more and creating record deficits in the process.
