JF, I just think it would be nice if people decided elections on the issues, rather than who could spend the most on the best marketing.

1) Do you personally vote on the issues, or on who has the slicker campaign ads?

2) Do you think any amount of money spent by the Bush re-election campaign is going to change your mind regarding the man?

3) Do you think the problem with the Democrats isn't one of ideology or character, but one of exposure? In other words, do you think the Democrats aren't getting their message out to the people?

4) And most importantly, why do you believe that it's all about the marketing? After all, marketing is everything when it comes to Coke vs. Pepsi, but no amount of marketing is ever going to make s--t look like a Thanksgiving dinner.

The only reason I brought it up was your whining about Soros contributing a few bucks, frankly I thought I was on your side.

Let's get one thing straight. I was not whining about the money Soros is contributing on his political vendetta. It's his money to spend. I think he's wasting it on a futile effort, but hey, I didn't "earn" that money in the first place, so who am I to say whether it's a waste or not?

In any case, what I'm whining about are those who think we should level the playing field when it comes to campaign finance. It's obvious there are no solutions to the "problem," but it's not obvious to me that this should ever be considered a "problem" in the first place. Why? Because this is all part of the free marketplace of ideas. You may bemoan the EOC (Evil Oil Companies) who support Bush and Cheney, but why not also bemoan the wacko elistists in Hollywood and the media who not only send billions to liberal causes? They "earned" their money, so to speak, so why shouldn't they spend it on whatever cause they believe in? (They also twist the media with a liberal bias, but that's a separate issue.)

Bottom line is that we already have a "level playing field" in our free society. You are free to say whatever you want, and you are free to contribute whatever you want to whomever you want. The only catch is that you yourself must figure out how to reach enough people and convince them of your views.

The only thing most conservatives want is to win. How ever they accomplish that doesn't matter much to them; to whit, Congressman Issa from CA.

I'm for Mom and Apple Pie, even against gun control; I suppose you freak neocons can find a way to attack on that as well, figuring it's another liberal conspiracy.

Trust me........neocons hate that Mom and Apple pie crap......it makes us weak. And as for your stand on gun control......now you're talking.
