Good morning Jay, Read your posts and I only feel able to comment on the energy part of our economy. I too have great concerns over our mounting debt and all things big picture but bottom line is how does one profit if that is ones ultimate goal.

With the passage of the energy bill, the tax benefits for drilling should show up fairly quickly in increased exploration here at home. This will benefit the drillers first and subcontractors second. Since oil service has been one of the worst sectors this year it shouldn't take much money flow to get these guys moving headed into 2004. Most Names are sitting at or near 52 week lows so downside risk is minimal IMO.

The bigger caps will get the initial bump with smaller names to follow. If you are nimble enough to start with the SII's NE's BHI's etc and then drop down the food chain one would maximize their opportunity.

Personally I've decided to buy some drillers right now and see how the dust settles. 1/2 my account was cash anyway which isn't a bad place to be but it limits the profit potential.

Overall thinking the market will hang in there for now and am sure 2003 will get booked as a big year for the houses. They would not dare let this slip away.

Best of luck

Scott
