Lindy Bill,
Saturday morning commentary.
I am not so sure Hillary wont step in this year. With Bush now seeming vulnerable and no one stepping out of the Dem pack, Hillary can easily win the nomination. Her election chances against Bush if all goes badly for him, may be better this year than in four against a new fresh republican face(although i fear the republicans will have 9 mini-candidates in 08 a la todays dems). Anyway a lot can happen in four years and a bird in the hand(guaranteed nomination) is worth alot. Also if she were to lose the general election in a close race, she would be frontrunner for 08 and in no worse shape than if she didnt run. Only thing that wipes her out is a McLandslide which is unlikely.
If she does run, i would expect her to run from the center with a strong alternate view on iraq, not cut and run. Domestically too--trade top rate tax cuts for programs "desperately needed" probably would be a theme. I am a political junkie and personally love candidates like Hillary. She wouldnt necessarily be a terrible presdent and unlike hubby she wont be screwing around in the oval office. Bill's was a mixed presidency and if he hadnt screwed around himself, he would have been judged better imo.
The blind eye to terror was a sin of clinton but also was the same for bush41 and reagan too and lets not forget about our first palestinian president Jimmy Carter.
Did I get your juices flowing. Just some thoughts for a saturday morning debate. Have at me. I will be looking for yours and others responses. Mike

Turkey PM blames al quaeda in today's two synagogue blasts. It may be time to send Turkish troops not to iraq but to the Afgan/Pak border to root out and destroy al quaida. Turk Moslems seem genuin in their disgust for this horrific act targeting people in prayer and its time for Islam to clean house and destroy the al quaeda menace. An alliance of Turk, Saudi, Pakistan, India, and Egypt to rid the world of this menace would be a welcome outcome. Onward Moslem soldiers. This should be less christian or jewish vs islam and more of an internal cleansing and ultimate move toward democratic albeit in some cases islamic states. Mike
