Which means they have to keep troops in. Which means that an independent Iraqi gov't can order them out. Which will undoubtedly happen. What then?

And what does "cut and run" mean if not at least an independent Iraqi gov't AND pulling out troops? Everything stays as now? Which means we've already cut and run by that definition.

Remeber that the wells were what we protected immediately after the invasion, not the people, the national treasures, the infrastructure.
