Grace, from a purely economic sense everything you say is perfectly true, of course.

But unless you're prepared to let the poor eat cake, or maybe you instead, we got to do some sharing ... it ain't easy to just walk out your door and just shoot a buffalo anymore. <g/ng>

agreed. it's called the elasticity of taxation or some such thing. there are some interesting studies done in regard to real estate taxes... which is almost where it all begins <g>
