Didn't want to rub it in, r-e .... the Chief did follow apq closely, and made its SI thread quite entertaining as well as informative, around '98 when it was sliding down the tubes .... he wasn't too impressed with the previous management, if memory serves, also political risk came into it as always, kind of weird thai mining law back then ... now that they've converted debt to equity there are over 400m shares out, basically they gave three quarters of the company to the creditors .... so now what will those holders do, is one question .... it's a big low-cost project though, current managment looks pretty reasonable, and they've got the China card to play now, so who knows .... anyway my four-minute dd friday on seeing it take off, resulted in deciding to just watch

Caught your post in re Tambogrande [which is one word by the way] - investorshub.com
.... i think you have to accept that locals have rights to live and farm that exceed the rights of foreigners to come and dig up their homes and farms .... because they accept that, quite completely and thoroughly .... it's just a pragmatic thing, no need to get into value judgments on it - threatening people will lead at a certain point to those people reacting, defending themselves

You have to realise that industrial mining in all latino countries has historically brought devastation to the people .... not just because they were worked as slaves to the benefit of foreigners, they also lost homes and good agricultural land, especially in SA, lots of those mountain valleys, there would be a culture of centuries, even millennia, then the foreigners would come, there would be a mine for a few years, then there would be nothing ..... years ago governments had firearms and the people did not, so the dictador du jour called the shots, you paid him off and he had his army move those people right now, and indenture any of them you wished ..... nowadays, a good used AK-47 can be had for about what you pay for dinner out, it's a different story - i would not want to be on man.to's staff if that mine goes ahead against the wishes of the great majority of residents

The current alcalde is dead set against it ..... as are, it appears, the great majority of tambograndinos .... just figure, how many people would benefit from mining, as opposed to how many would be harmed .... and i don't know the answer to that, never been there, don't have clear picture of the situation .... but i do know, it's the first question to ask

Excellent page on 83 silver plays, by Jason Hommel, thanks to basserdan over there - news.goldseek.com
