I am quite aware of issues with Swarzenegger but the issue where you and I may differ is that I am a firm believer in checks and balances and I believe that if you put too many legislators of one ideology in a room, bad things happen. That is what happened in California imho- first the votes all started going the same way and then (the worst part) officers started being selected for ideology vs. talent. A mess was the result.

Same thing at the federal level, way too many like minded republicans, they convince themselves in closed door sessions that they are right. They only choose cabinet members that agree with them and the result is terrible.

I don't know what the Luisiana legislature looks like- it may well look like California, mostly democratic. If so, then with my beliefs I would support Jindle just on principal. But right now, at this moment I am happy the dem won because of the 17 dead in Iraq and cowardly Bush cutting and running really gets me. Bush hires US police to protect him in the UK, where there citizens are not allowed to own firearms- why not walk out in the open and take his chances like our men and women in Iraq have to do.

I differ with the Bush administration in that I believe that failing to intern the Democrat leadership for the duration of the war with world Islam will cause tens of thousands of unnecessary American deaths-and result in the Democrat leadership's permanent internment in the longer run, anyway.

Since he's got them on the run in 2004, I will defer to him and hope he's right. But the risk looks far too great to me...
