When she first got asthma 30+ years ago, she was put on Prednisone. It is the same prescription my doctor wrote for me. We know the adverse side effects & my wife has only used it sparingly (when she has a mild attack, etc.) over the last 15-20 yrs. I'm only on a 12 day course - 40 mg for 3 days, then 30 for 3, then 20, then 10. I only have 2 days left. For all the potential side effects, it is the only thing that has dramatically reduced my pain. I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to be nearly pain free for a change. My doctor thinks this might reduce the swelling enough to get me over the hump, at least for my lower back and I can increase my exercise a little at a time to build up the muscles, etc. I looked into the TDP Lamps. Thanks for the info. I'm going to do some research on it & seriously look into buying one. I'm all for non-prescription drug therapy. I think that drug companies are too involved in pushing doctors, hospitals, etc., into using their products first, rather than trying other, safer methods of treatments first. I've learned the hard way, time & time again, that when money is involved, ethics & morals take a back seat to proper conduct. I don't doubt that many drugs cure or improve many maladies. I also don't doubt that there are many instances where drugs are not the best choice, but the better choice may not bring in as much $$ to the practice or the drug companies. And let's not forget the nasty side effects of oh so many drugs in use today. Again, thanks for the info & sharing your experience with the product. Tim
