<<...The Bush administration has melded the crookedness of Nixon with the regressiveness of Reagan in attempt to plunge this country into a new dark age...>>

Unfortunately, I think you're right.

A few days ago we reported that plans to keep ex-Iraqi weapons scientists employed and monitored were not only woefully underfunded but held up by bureaucratic infighting between various arms of the government. This, of course, while we employ vast sums of money and personnel on an almost certainly futile search for actual stashes of Iraqi WMD.

Now comes word that Saddam's top scientist on top-range missiles design and production has gone to Iran.

perfesser parrot perch-

excellent essay. it's hard to read for the above average
IQ dudes and impossible for the low and the average...
but for the high IQers, schooled historians and the
intellectuals it's a great supportive and visionary piece
of writing.

i'm in the above average IQ group though i write and
speak on the "average" level because it gives me a larger
audience... or maybe i'm lying to mice elf... maybe i'm
smart but lazy which effectively pushes me down to the
100 IQ level?

i tend to operate on the lower intellectual level of
thought that allows the condensation of the entire
philosophy of life into one liners.
<g>

KISS (keep it simple stupid) is burned into my... uhhh...
my place where you burn things into. <????> <g>

i read your piece studiously... i looked up words i didn't
understand (like epistemology)... i clicked on your provided
links... and as i did i had a strong feeling... an
emotionally induced conclusion... that the vast majority
of people who can relate on the higher intellectual
plane are of the same mind when it comes to progressive
vs. regressive philosophies.

"progressive is inevitable"... it's the nature of the
universe to expand and evolve... go with the inevitable.

it's nice to have perfessers like you who can take
the "simple" truths of life and weave them into complex,
historical essays that feed the intellectual soul.

smart people need support, encouragement and essays too. <g>
thanks for filling that niche.

yer humble estudiante,

"The Plutocracy alternative would have resulted in a futile cycle of revolt and repression."

Did you mean "feudal"? <g>

"– not dissimilar to what the last 150 years have produced in too much of Latin America.

Yep...just try to buy good cup of coffee; or get your kid into a school, not a "decent" school, just a school; or buy a book or get a auto at a fair price or see a domestically made film or drive on a secondary road or get some workers to build you a top quality house....in Honduras. If the results of that search lead to the quality of life you want here, go ahead and vote Regressive. If you like the options and "quality" available to us in the West, vote Modern.

Well done. Your sabbatical paid off nicely.
