We trained, armed and $upported those Afghan "freedom fighters"... In other words, we bought & paid for their support against the old Soviet Union... Do you think for one moment the Soviet Army could not have wiped out the Afghan resistance if they didn't have our support? Now that is a real Flol... But you know, Iraq has what, the 2nd largest crude reserves in the world, so there is a lot of money to be made in the re-building....
