Well, all we have is the assertion of known liar, John Ashcroft, that he isn't enforcing Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act, the section dealing with investigations of library usage.

You are certainly within your rights to believe him if you care to. But I'm certainly within my rights to express a little cynicism about a man telling me that the rule he put in place is one he has no interest in putting to use. Common sense says otherwise.

There is no way for us to find out when Section 215 is being utilized from any librarian or Federal agent, except under penalty of felony prosecution. If Ashcroft is lying, we have no way to legally know this. Catch-22.
