moenmac,

Re: The United States military will be stationed in Iraq for tens of years,

It's such a nice change of pace to see a right winger telling the truth for a change. But wait....

The United States will ensure that democracy prevails.

The lies immediately return! Whew! Thank you. I was beginning to fear that you were losing your ability to be a creep.

We're there for the oil, dear. Cut the crap about democracy. The Bushies hate democracy. Just look at how they tried to end it in Venezuela recently. Just look at Allende in Chile, Mossadeq in Iran. The U.S. hates democracy. We love to install dictators and oligarchs. These corrupt creeps are much easier to do business with. Why mess around with the "people", when you can cut a deal with a despot?

You want to wager a bet with me on that? The whole thing reeks of initial stages of exit strategy.

US might leave some token force behind instead of increasing the number of boots on the ground. They seem to want to drop this hot potatoe in Iraqi governing councils hands, proclaim victory (or should I say "mission accomplished" ) and then retreat.

If that happens.. only one word comes to my mind "SHAME".
I hope that does not happen
