Perhaps it is safer in countries that supported Saddam? Notice they have not threatened France, Germany or Russia. Feel good talk about liberating Iraq, supporting self determination and establishing a beacon of hope in the ME will only carry us so far. The other long term objective little discussed in the media is the survival of our way of life. Iraq must be in a position 3-5 years from now to supply increasing quantities of oil. Either that or turn a blind eye to the growing terrorist threat emanating from the ME and watch global living standards plummet. Maybe then we wont need so much oil from the ME.
