I did not say that. But all in all what you are saying that Reagan should be blamed for not fixing Carter's screw ups and Carter should not be blamed for his screw ups because it expected that Reagan would fix 'em - interesting logic

Reagan did some of screw ups of his own but again all of that was connected to Iran and Carter. Anyways, inspite of rumors of that were posted on conspiracy theory pages it was only shown that america sold dual use equipment. To Bush's credit he took responsibility to clean the mess while other suppliers like france, germany and russia did not.

not anymore. I agree with you though that Pakistan was a big mistake - we pissed off Russia and very likely India as well.
