Mark,

Thanks for sharing your dream. :)

W/R/T American TV -- There is a decidedly bellicose tone to the programming today, compared to the pre 9/11 halcyon delusion period. Beyond the news, the number of programs devoted to topics of war, crime and terror have exploded in the last couple of years. And it is being done, unquestionably, to control the masses and inure them to the police state. Even shows like "Survivor" are presenting a vision of life that is anathema to the community based values this country was based on. Now, instead of communities coming together and cooperating, as might have been the message of shows like "Ponderosa" or "The Mousketeers", we are now fed a dark vision of social Darwinism where cheating, scheming and selfishness are glorified. The TV executives are creating a vision of a much bleaker and more hostile world than what we really need. And they are doing it in collusion with the Mad Maxes of the Pentagon who are giving Dr. Strangelove a good run for his money. The difference is that Strangelove was satire. Unfortunately Perle, Wolfowitz, Cheney et al are all too real, though just as pathologically paranoid as Strangelove.
