I believe that more and more, the Europeans are overplaying their hand. There is a limit on trying to push the Americans.

Definitely.. There were times during the summer that I was tempted to get involved in trying to bring all of our troops home from Europe, including our fallen ones from the two world wars..

After all, how many Europeans soldiers are buried in American cemeteries as a result of liberating this country??

For that reason alone, it's my opinion that Europeans should be very careful in asserting that Iraq is something "the US broke, and the US should fix".

Because the truth is that Iraq was "broken" when the UNSC permitted itself to become a body of mere rhetorical bluster, issuing 17 unenforced binding resolutions and permitting their "inspection" program to become a complete laughing stock.

And the reason that this situation resulted is because the European members were more interested in protecting their cozy relationship with a dictator than they were with enforcing their own laws.

And that's the reason that American boys and girls are over there in Iraq fighting and dying.
