Clinton gave us very little inflation. Inflation during the Carter era was based on two huge factors, the Arab oil embargo and the huge debt from the Vietnam War. Believe it or not, the huge debt GW is creating now along with high fuel and commodity prices may also give us a lot of inflation in the near future. We are so used to low interest rates and low inflation now we may be completely caught off-guard. If not for Greenpspan holding rates way down ---
