>>> You can't help but wonder if the first bird, outside of its cage, is really "free"....<<<

There are two freedoms: the false where a man is free to do what he likes; and the true where a man is free to do what he ought.

There is no better or more blessed bondage than to be a prisoner of hope.

Men show their character in nothing more clearly than by what they think laughable.

Some people always sigh in thanking God but remember, Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor, to console him for what he is.

Here's some humor: Your a caged bird w/ weighty feelings of value and distrust.

When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God. I'm serious.<g>

Thank you for sharing that image. I imagine chatting with the artist would be enlightening. Ahh, a phrase, with Freedom comes Responsibility. Ahh, another phrase, Noblesse Oblige. This is true.

I'm afraid my exploration is a bit more mundane. Deep seated in my nature there appears to be a driving force which cries out "Freedom!". Unchecked, this leads to paradox.

I'm reminded of a dark room with shape unknown, but motion in any direction eventually reveals an aspect. A boundary. A wall, a crack or crevice. I pause to wonder, Is it Freedom on the other side of this barrier? I thought I was free, but now I see I must be mistaken.

Sort of like the blind men describing the elephant, I'm not sure what I can say. I've only bumped into oddly shaped aspects in a few directions. But it only took a couple of bumps to discover I didn't know what Freedom was. That it isn't easy to put Freedom inside a box & label it.

I presume it ultimately boils down to a state of mind.

Ahh, yes. Joyful Serenity. Grace. Now that is Freedom.

I found these posts worthy of the reading effort, and stash them here so as to save on the number of posts I make.
